Description

The Cereglaria, microscopic brain parasites from space that put humanity on the brink, find themselves on the bad end of extinction. It's all because Jerry L. Berruto, egotistical scientist, has developed an artificial immune system they just can't beat. The remnants of this terrible swarm invade the body of Jerry himself in a last ditch effort at survival.

This is a microscopic shoot em up that combines my love for the genre with my love for goofy alien and robot designs. It's got a scoring system based around aggressively attacking enemies at close range to build up a laser meter, and using the laser to convert enemies and bullets into big juicy points. It's also got dynamic difficulty that can jump up to silly levels if you play super good/figure out how to game the system.

This game is currently in alpha; there are still a few features I need to add, some sprites and animations are placeholders, and there is only one level to play. It also only has a Windows 10/11 build; I can figure out how to make builds for Linux and Mac if requested. Update: And also there's no controller support (but that'll be the next feature I'll work on).  In the meantime, if you want to play with a controller I recommend using Joy2Key or similar programs.

Super cool game!

I love the overall aesthetic, and the bite attack is really awesome. The bullets do feel a little fast for the first level - it almost feels like a midgame or lategame right off the bat. And the laser seems to use all of your ammo instead of just one at a time, which is a little frustrating when I'm trying to save it for the boss. But, I adore that the microbes change color each level; I think that's a really, really cool detail!!

I think it would be really cool to see some sort of classic power-up system to bring your microbe from a little wimpy shot at the beginning all the way to the supercannon (or beyond) that the demo gives you. But I'm super excited to see how the game develops!
